Yesterday in Gusev (the Kaliningrad region) the first line of "Produkty Pitaniya" (Croatian capital) canned meat plant for was officially opened. At the same time, the construction of a large poultry breeding and processing complex was launched (overall investment is estimated at 300 million USD).

"Produkty Pitaniya"President, Stefano Vlahovic, the first line with production capacity of 3.5 million cans per month will be accompanied by the second line in 2011, which would nearly double the production capacity. The plant will employ 150 people in Gusev. The poultry breeding and processing complex is expected to create around 2000 jobs when completed.

Cumulative Danish capital investments in the Kaliningrad region at the beginning of 2010 reached $ 86 million or 13.4% of the total accumulated investments ($ 643.1 million). According to the press service of the Regional Ministry of Economy, in 2008, Danish investors have invested in the development of Kaliningrad companies $ 41.3 million or 11% of total attracted foreign investments for the year, becoming the region's third largest investor (with Cyprus excluded from the analysis).

Federal Customs Service (FCS) will reduce the time of the customs operations processing the shipping of goods by sea between the ports of Kaliningrad and Ust-Luga, the press service of the FCS announced.

Accroding to FoodsBusinessDaily.com Miratorg Company, one of largest Russian meat importers and manufacturers has entered into a supply agreement with the Russian division of McDonald's. According to Vice-President of Miratorg, Vladimir Maslov the contract is signed for three years, with the possibility of further extension.

The press service of the company said on Friday that the flight would be performed three times a week - on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays – using an Embraer-195 aircraft.
