Latvia will close its consulate in Kaliningrad

Based on materials by Rugrad.eu. Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have to close some of its consulates abroad. Consulates in Saint-Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Pskov will be among the first in the list. Overall, 4-10 consulates will be closed.

These were the words by the Consul General of Germany in Kaliningrad, Dr. Aristide Emil Fenster speaking at the official opening of Hipp’s first baby foods manufacturing plant in Russia. Manufacturing facilities occupying 1.5 hectares of land in Mamonovo will launch production in November, and according to Natalia Slivka, Director of OOO “HiPP” the products will appear on the shelves of stores in Russia and other CIS countries in January. With over 15 mn EUR of investment already, the plant is currently being furnished with hi-end equipment. More than 50 people have already started working in it. The plant has the production capacity of 30 mn jars a year, with the possibility of 3-times increase should the market conditions become more favourable. In that case the number of jobs would rise accordingly.

The number of vacancies placed by Kaliningrad employers at hh.ru in early April reached around 67% of pre-crisis level.
