Trade between Belarus and Kaliningrad region amounted to $74 million in January-February, or 4,5 times up over the same period last year. In terms of trade of Belarus with Russia’s regions Kaliningrad region rose from the 25th place to the 10th, the chief of the Kaliningrad branch of the Embassy to Belarus in Russia, Vladimir Zalomai, told BelTA. Exports of Belarusian goods to that region increased from $9.4 million to $14 million. Major exports were foodstuffs, furniture and reinforced concrete. Belarus started exporting elevators: Mogilevliftmash signed a contract to deliver 40 elevators to that region of Russia. In January-February imports from the Kaliningrad region made up $59.8 million as against $6.8 million in the same period last year.
