Based on materials by RUGRAD.EU. At the moment “Fish Village” ethnographic and crafts centre is hosting another international working meeting of tourism business representatives. According to officials from the Department of Tourism of the Kaliningrad region no signs of decline in the interest to these meetings are seen. Nearly 300 representatives of tourism business are expected to participate.

Marina Drutman, Head of the Department of Tourism told to the media that the main objective of this WORKSHOP is to retain the demand for tourism services at previous year’s level. According to Mrs. Drutman, this task is absolutely achievable due to the devaluation effects.

In his greeting words to workshop participants Mikhail Karapysh, the Minister of Industry of the Kaliningrad region mentioned that fortunately concerns about the waning nostalgic tourism were false.

A representative of Lithuanian delegation pointed out that a partnership agreement had been signed between municipalities of Svetlogorsk and Klaipeda, which is expected to stimulate tourism flows in both directions. Read more in Russian…
