Launch of a HiPP plant in the Kaliningrad region is a good model of Russian-German cooperation

These were the words by the Consul General of Germany in Kaliningrad, Dr. Aristide Emil Fenster speaking at the official opening of Hipp’s first baby foods manufacturing plant in Russia. Manufacturing facilities occupying 1.5 hectares of land in Mamonovo will launch production in November, and according to Natalia Slivka, Director of OOO “HiPP” the products will appear on the shelves of stores in Russia and other CIS countries in January. With over 15 mn EUR of investment already, the plant is currently being furnished with hi-end equipment. More than 50 people have already started working in it. The plant has the production capacity of 30 mn jars a year, with the possibility of 3-times increase should the market conditions become more favourable. In that case the number of jobs would rise accordingly.

The opening was attended by Dr. Klaus Hipp, co-owner of this family business known the world over, Galina Yankovskaya, Minister of Social Policy and labour, Andrey Romanov, Minister of Agriculture and Fishery, Mikhail Plyukhin, Minister for the Development of Territories and Interaction with Municipalities, Vladimir Ashihin, Head of SEZ Administration in the Kaliningrad region.

OOO “HiPP” became resident of the Special Economic Zone in the Kaliningrad region in 2008. The company also has plans starting its own agricultural production in Mamonovo municipality.
