Kaliningrad businessmen found partners in Germany and Portugal

www.investinkaliningrad.ru. Supported by the regional government a number of Kaliningrad businessmen visited Germany and Portugal on a trip aimed at extending cooperation, establishment of business relations and promotion of their products.

The trip to Germany was a reaction to the invitation by Uwe Döring, the Minister of Justice, Labour and Europe to visit «NordBau-2009» - the largest construction exhibition in Germany, which was made in the course of the visit by a delegation from Schleswig-Holstein to the Kaliningrad region in June.

According to Kaliningrad entrepreneurs participating in the trip, both exhibition and visits to leading construction companies of Schleswig-Holstein has not only assisted in establishing new contacts but given an impetus to further development of this business as well.

The agenda of the second business-mission to Portugal was more comprehensive. Kaliningrad delegation included representatives of various economic sectors – banking, tourism, shipbuilding and fish-processing.

A presentation of the region was made in the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Lisbon where Kaliningrad’s advantages in terms of investment, prospects of industrial and tourism development were highlighted.
