“Quartz” plant in Kaliningrad may start laser production

Based on materials by Rugrad.eu [1]. The Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO) is currently considering the possibility of investments in manufacturing of laser equipment of wide range of application (medicine, industry, space technologies) at “Quartz” plant in Kaliningrad. The investment in question is 30-40 mn EUR.

According to Vadimir Ashihin, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Kaliningrad region, “Quartz’s” chances are rather good as the plant has manufacturing equipment that might be used in laser equipment production, as well as free production facilities where additional equipment may be installed.
