The law "On Energy Saving" may cause energy consumption by Kaliningrad enterprises to reduce by 40%

Yesterday, the District Council of Deputies of Kaliningrad held open parliamentary hearings on the measures of enforcement of the "Federal Law on Energy Saving and on Enhancing Energy Efficiency". According to the press service of Kaliningrad city administration, Chairman of the Council of Deputies' Commission on Strategic Development and Investment Promotion, Yuri Vasilyuk noted that the implementation of the provisions of the law of the energy consumption of Kaliningrad companies will be reduced by 40%, which should give an impetus to the emergence of new companies and production facilities even without building additional infrastructural capacity.

In general, energy-saving technologies are aimed at reducing losses during transportation of resources from MUP Kaliningradteploset (Kaliningrad's main supplier of heat) and MUP Vodokanal (Kaliningrad's main supplier of water) to consumers, the insulation of building facades, the multiple use of water and heat resources.

The federal law "On Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency" envisages the introduction of classes of energy efficiency of products, houses, a ban on the circulation of energy inefficient products, incandescent lamps of more than 100 watts from 1 January 2011.

From 1 January 2010 organisations funded from the state budget must start reducing the consumption of water, fuel, gas, heat and electricity. In 5 years the volume of consumption must be reduced by not less than 15% of the 2009 level, with annual cuts can not to be less than 5%.
