In the January-April, 2010 the turnover of the port of Kaliningrad has grown to 5.11 million tons (+27% to the level of the same period in 2009). According to the Association of Sea Commercial Ports, the increase in turnover was also noted in the Big Port of St. Petersburg (to 15.75 million tons – a 16.3% growth) and the port of Ust-Luga (to 3.25 million tons - a 25.1% growth).

In general, marine terminals operators of the Northwest basin transhipped 71.07 million tons of cargo, which is 3.1% more than in the 4 months of last year. The volume of transshipment of dry cargos grew by 11.6% and reached 25.37 million tons, while that of liquid cargos fell by 1.1% to 45.7 million tons. Cargo turnover of Russian ports in January-April 2010 increased by 10.4% compared to the same period of 2009 to 167.48 million tons.

Note: in 2009 the turnover of the port of Kaliningrad has fallen by 19.6% to 12.4 million tons.
