On May 28 the municipality of Yantarny will welcome the participants and guests of the IVth Kaliningrad Economic Forum (KEF). Kaliningrad Economic Forum has become a traditional event in the life of regional business community. KEF remains one of the most important activities that contribute to the development of small cities in the Kaliningrad region and intensification of business activity in the region. For the fourth year representatives of political, economic and social elite of the country gather to discuss business development not in the regional center, but in small towns of the Kaliningrad region. It is worth mentioning that the first two forums were held in Sovetsk and Gusev, last year Polessk hosted the event. Yantarny was selected as the palce for this year's forum due to the unique location of the town and the active position of the Head of the municipality Alexander Blinov. Mr. Blinov also proposed to discuss at the forum the issues of Kaliningrad region's amber industry development. The idea was supported by the organisers of the forum - the Government of the Kaliningrad region, Kaliningrad Regional Duma, the Russian Public Organisation of Small and Medium Business "OPORA ROSSII". Special attention will be paid to the practice of law enforcement in the field of support to (and protection of) small and medium enterprises, creation of conditions for its development. President of OPORA ROSSII, member of the Public Chamber of Russia Sergey Borisov will be the moderator of the working section of "Major problems of small- and medium-sized businesses in Russia at the present stage". A delegation of politicians and businessmen from Finland will arrive to participate in the section High ranking regional, Moscow and St.-Petersburg officials are expected to attend.
