 <title>Navigation at Kaliningrad (Vistula) bay is gradually developing</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Since the resumption  of navigation at Kaliningrad (Vistula) bay on Kaliningrad-Elblag  route 5 thousand tons of coal was transported. At that moment, according  to SeaNews information agency, coal is the only commodity carried  through the bay as part of international traffic.  <title>The Kaliningrad region ranks 25th among Russian regions by quality of life</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Institute of Regional Information has compiled a rating of Russian  regions by the quality of life. According to the study, since 2006 the  Kaliningrad region lost  11 positions moving from the 14th place to the  25th. On the other hand, in Q1 2009 Kaliningrad was only 30th, so  compared to the previous year the relative standard of living in the  region has improved.  <title>Avianova, a budget airline, plans to launch flight on Kaliningrad direction in Autumn</title>

 <title>Ibis Hotel will open in the Kaliningrad region in the next two years </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The construction of an Ibis Hotel is planned to be finished in  Kaliningrad in the next two years. The European Bank for Reconstruction  and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC)  are planning to provide the funding, RIA Novosti reports. Apart from  Kaliningrad, hotels will be built in Russian cities of Samara, Yaroslavl  and Krasnoyarsk. Overall, EBRD and IFC plan to invest 50 million euros  in the project.  <title>Kaliningrad artists&#039; amber exhibition in Louvre</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;2010 is the Russia-France crossover year. One of its events is an  exhibition of amber artworks from the Russian most northwest Kaliningrad  region in the Louvre.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Each November the Louvre opens a Salon of national cultural heritage.  For Russian artists it is very prestigious to take part in it.     In  1979 a museum of amber opened in Kaliningrad &amp;ndash; not unique, but the  world&#039;s largest. One can see amber from elsewhere here &amp;ndash; the Baltic  countries, Scandinavia, Japan, South America &amp;ndash; and, of course, the  Kaliningrad region itself, for 90% of the world&#039;s amber is produced  here. It is the Kaliningrad artists who restored the famous Amber room  of the Empress Catherine&#039;s palace in the suburbs of St. Petersburg that  was destroyed by Nazis during the WWII.
