According to data provided by HeadHunter recruitment agency experts based on the vacancies placed on hh.ru by companies-employers and CVs by jobseekers, the demand for skilled personnel in Kaliningrad showed moderate growth in March after a 50% drop by the end of 2008. According to Konstantin Kopylov, Vice-President of the Association for Gaming Business Development, apart from identifying the location of future gaming zones no work is being implemented by business community and authorities. The situation with the gaming zone in Primorie is even worse – no location is specified in that case. The issue of infrastructure and communications is unresolved. According to Daniil Kofner, Director for Economics of “Vozrozhdenie” fund, in the last few months office rent rates in Kaliningrad city centre went down on average 25%. The lowest monthly rates for “A” and “B” class office were at the level of 800 roubles per sq.m, now they dropped to 600 roubles. Kaliningrad-based Boeing 737 operator KD-Avia claims to have resolved debt payment problems and returned to normal operations after earlier this month delaying all departures from its base at Kaliningrad Khrabrovo airport, citing a "high volume of debt" to aircraft lessors. Based on materials by Kaliningrad.Ru. Cargo turnover at Kaliningrad sea port fell to 3.003 mn tones in Q1 of 2009 - a 31% drop as compared with same period last year. The volume of oil cargos turnover went up by 35% to 345.3 thousand tones, while transshipment of many other articles slowed down substantially (oil products – by 41.8% to 1.295 mn tones, containers – by 76.5% to 14.371 thousand TEU, metals – by 30.9% to 342.8 thousand tones, coal and coke – by 72.3% to 100.9 thousand tones, mineral fertilisers - by 41.4% to 101.8 thousand tones. read more | 230 reads
